About this series

In April 2022, having quit my job in London and moved out of my boat, I went off to Greece for my ‘Mamma Mia’ summer, as my good friend Conrad called it. I had found a job as a bike guide in Vasiliki, a famous windsurfing bay on an island in North West Greece. Each day, I’d take some lucky guests on a bike ride in the morning, then some more in the afternoon, and return to the hotel at around 5pm. On a good day, it would be windy, and I’d go windsurfing.

It was a good way to spend a summer, but as the months drew on I became increasingly stressed about my return to the UK, where I had nothing lined up for myself. It is fair to say that my stress starts to come through in the later updates, but in hindsight, the ones where I’m the most nervous about returning to England are also the best ones. Funny, eh?
